Digital Footprint/ Digital Citizenship
A digital footprint is a track that is left by you that shows where you have been on the internet. People from around the world my find your trail from you filling out a form online, talking to people on a social network, and just veiwing a web page- leave a trail that you would want to leave.
Digital citizenship means how you act online. If you say mean things, you are not a good digital citizen- if you are kind to others, then you are a good digital citizen. Be a good digital citizen- only say what you would want others to see.
Good digital citizenship is standing up for someone who is being bullied. Also, treating others the way you want to be treated. If everyone followed the golden rule, there wouln't be any problems.
Some good examples of digital citizenship are reporting any bullying that is taking place on the internet. Also, making nice, positive comments on someone's post or picture.
Negative examples of digital citizenship is using inappropiate language, or saying hurtful things to another user. Another one is posting bad pictures or posting pictures of someone that they don't want you to post.
Assignment: DigiTeen Introduction
After reading some introductions from other students in the project:
1. Look at the rubric so that you will know how the introduction will be graded (advanced is worth the most points, beginning is worth the least points).
2. Write 5 - 10 (or more) sentences to introduce yourself.
3. Pay particular attention to correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation - this is SCHOOL WRITING, not TEXT writing.
Hi, my name is Lauren V. I go to West Middle School in Anamosa, Iowa. I play basketball, volleyball, and softball. I am 12 years old and in 7th grade. I am a Anamosa Raiders, Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and Green Bay Packers fan. I live on a farm, where we raise stock cattle. I live with my mom, dad, and one older brother. My favorite sport to play is basketball and my favorite sports to watch is basketball and football. My favorite animal is a cow, because I raise my own and love to work with them.
